About me:

After graduating from law school, I served as a clerk for a justice on the Indiana Supreme Court and then spent two years clerking for a judge in the U.S. District Court. Following that valuable experience, I practiced law independently for ten years, running a general civil litigation practice that included divorces, wills and contracts drafting, and representing insurance companies in personal injury cases.

Later, my wife and I launched a personal computer retail business. We imported components from Taiwan, and I personally assembled and sold over 1,000 computers. Eventually, the pressures of retail took a toll, and when we parted ways, she kept the business.

I embraced new skills, mastering desktop publishing, Photoshop, and principles of layout and design. With my second wife, an accomplished artist, we started a marketing materials design business focused on small businesses and real estate agents. Unfortunately, the economic downturn in 2008 ended that venture.

Several years ago, I returned to the legal field as a freelance paralegal on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, where I offer services in civil litigation. Most of my current work involves technical legal writing—pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs—but I also leverage my experience with SEO content creation and copywriting.

  • I have worked on employment law litigation with lawyers in Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, Colorado, and Georgia. This has involved various discrimination claims (ADA, FMLA, EEOC) and old-fashioned wage and hour claims.
  • Federal Civil Procedure is my favorite, and every District Court is different.
  • Consumer protection laws are of interest to me.
  • I'm glad I've lived long enough to witness the emergence of artificial intelligence from the pages of science fiction and into the light of day. I expect it will be a bumpy ride.
